Slover Linett will present this comprehensive report focused on the Greater Boston region in-person on May 18 at an event co-hosted by the Barr Foundation, the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture, and the Boston Public Library. This gathering will be held from 1-6:30pm at the Boston Public Library central building on Boylston Street. We’ll also be hearing from community practitioners whose work is on the leading edge of the action areas that emerged from the research.

Culture & Community in a Time of Transformation: Focus on MA aims to connect the cultural sector in Massachusetts with the experiences and needs of Massachusetts communities and audiences during the pandemic and beyond.  This research has been generously supported by the Barr Foundation & it builds upon the national Culture & Community in a Time of Transformation study.

In a second report, we highlight how BIPOC residents of greater Boston are similar and different in attitudes, behaviors, and hopes for the arts and culture sector compared to the state as a whole. This research has a robust methodology with more than 8,000 responses collected from MA residents and more than 75,000 responses nationally. In this report segment, we share highlights of the kinds of change and transformation that BIPOC residents of Greater Boston want to see in the arts & culture sector, building blocks for a more resilient and relevant sector, and the impacts of online and offline experiences in our cultural lives, among other themes.
