Funding Partners

Culture + Community in a Time of Transformation: A Special Edition of Culture Track has been made possible by several foundations and corporations hoping to help the cultural sector become more equitable and empathetic as it respond to the pandemic. From the outset, lead funding has been provided by the Wallace Foundation, whose arts program and research team have also offered crucial thought-partnership. Other major funders for 2021 include the Barr Foundation, Terra Foundation for American Art, and William Penn Foundation, with additional targeted support from Aroha Philanthropies, the federal Institute for Museum & Library Services, and the Knight Foundation. In-kind support from FocusVision, an online research innovator now part of Forsta, has been crucial, as has the support of NORC at the University of Chicago. The Microsoft Corporation donated technical talent to develop an interactive data-exploration tool for Wave 1.

The generosity of all these supporters makes this research open-source and free to all, including the participating cultural organizations.
