Maggie Jacobstein Stern
Maggie Stern is a Boston-based education and public engagement consultant who helps Slover Linett articulate its research philosophy and design in new-project proposals. She brings more than a decade of experience in exhibition development, having served as a content and education specialist at Ralph Appelbaum Associates, the New York-based interpretive museum planning and design firm. Select projects there included the Russian Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center in Moscow, the Presidio Officer’s Club in San Francisco, the Arctic Studies Center at the Anchorage Museum in Anchorage, and the Sentosa Maritime Museum in Singapore, among others.
Maggie has also worked in audience research, museum education, and exhibition design for New York cultural institutions including the Center for Architecture Foundation, New York Historical Society, Lower East Side Tenement Museum, and the Paley Center for Media, as well as with Bluecadet, a technology and design firm in Philadelphia. She earned her B.A. from McGill University in Montreal and her Ed.M. from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. She believes that a nuanced, inclusive understanding of the different ways people learn should be the jumping-off point for design and interpretation decisions.
