We’re pleased to welcome Melissa Reeves to the firm as our office manager. A multi-talented individual, Melissa has degrees in acting and creative writing and experience in higher education management. So she’s a natural fit at Slover Linett, and we’re delighted to have her on the team.
As Office Manager, Melissa will oversee administrative and technical operations of the Chicago office as the firm continues to expand. She began her new role in January, 2012, joining us from The Illinois Institute of Art–Chicago, where she spent five years as administrative assistant for academic affairs at the school’s Loop campus. In that position, Melissa assisted the vice president of academic affairs, the academic deans, and academic directors while also taking on registrar and transfer coordinator duties to make life easier for students and instructors alike.
Melissa graduated from Ohio University with a BFA in acting and later earned an MA in creative writing from Bath Spa University College in England. Prior to joining the Illinois Institute of Art, she worked in marketing at Cincinnati Museum Center and programming at the Educational Theater Association. Her love for the arts and higher education transfers perfectly to Slover Linett.
Melissa sees this as an exciting time to join a group of researchers who are relentlessly committed to improvement. “I realized right away that people here are always trying to find ways to do things better,” she notes. “I love that it’s never business as usual, and I’m hoping to contribute to that process as the firm grows.”
With Melissa’s arrival, the firm’s previous office manager and research coordinator, Amy Barr, has moved into a full-time analysis role. Amy is delighted to finally be focusing her attention on research projects (and the rest of our busy team is happy that she can do so).
