Slover Linett’s research and assessment work for colleges and universities has been growing rapidly this year, in terms of both clients and staff. We are very pleased to welcome Jenny Puchtel to the firm as an associate. She will design and direct studies of prospects, applicants, students, alumni, and donors, bringing diverse assessment experience and outstanding methodological skills to the firm.
Puchtel’s dual background in higher education and consulting make her an ideal addition to the Slover Linett education team. She has worked in student affairs assessment at Northwestern University; at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Office of Institutional Information and Research; and in a research role at the Associated Colleges of the Midwest, a consortium of 14 liberal arts colleges. She has designed and conducted studies of student needs, satisfaction, and learning outcomes, as well as assessments of study abroad programs, off-campus housing, students’ spiritual growth, and campus racial/ethnic climate.
On the consulting side, Puchtel spent six years at Deloitte LLP’s Chicago office as a manager and senior consultant, helping clients manage their global employees. She conducted complex research projects and provided policy recommendations to help a wide range of organizations manage costs.
Puchtel recently received a master's degree in higher education administration and policy from Northwestern University, where she studied with Dr. Rachelle L. Brooks, now her colleague at Slover Linett. Puchtel also earned her BA at Northwestern, majoring in economics and graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
“We’re delighted that Jenny has joined us,” says vice president for higher education Bill Hayward, “and I look forward to introducing her to our clients and colleagues around the field. She is going to make a terrific contribution to our understanding of student learning, alumni engagement — the whole research and assessment picture.”
Please join us in welcoming Jenny Puchtel to her new role. She can be reached at (773) 348-9200 x109 or by email.
