We’re excited to announce the promotion of several key members of the Slover Linett team and a new structure designed to enhance our ability to serve both higher education and arts & culture institutions.
Effective this week, all three of the firm’s senior associates have assumed new leadership roles.
Bill Hayward has been named Vice President for Higher Education and will lead our work with colleges, universities, graduate schools, and other educational organizations. Hayward, a research and assessment veteran joined the firm in 2009 after 12 years as head of Northwestern University’s Office of Institutional Research.
Sarah Lee has been named Vice President for Arts & Culture and will lead the firm’s work with museums, performing arts organizations, and other cultural nonprofits and informal learning institutions. Lee has been affiliated with Slover Linett since 2004, first as a part-time research analyst while pursuing her doctorate in public policy at the University of Chicago, and since 2009 as senior associate for museums.
Chloe Chittick Patton has been appointed Vice President of Research Services, a role in which she will continue to oversee research projects for select arts and museum clients and also direct the firm’s Chicago-based staff below the vice president level. Chittick Patton joined the firm in 2005 and most recently served as senior associate for the performing arts.
In addition, two of the firm’s research analysts are taking on new responsibilities. Mike Hanus and Anne Lee have been named Associates, a position in which they will direct research, assessment, and evaluation studies in both sectors, with Hanus focusing on higher education and Lee (no relation to Sarah Lee) focusing on arts & culture. Hanus has been with Slover Linett since 2005, first on a freelance basis and since 2007 as a full-time research analyst. Lee joined the firm in 2007 and, like Hanus, has worked on a wide range of qualitative and quantitative projects.
The new structure, folding museums and performing arts together under the arts & culture banner, will encourage knowledge-sharing across different arts disciplines and organizational types. It also makes sense in light of the firm’s increasing involvement in multi-institution and pan-sector research studies.
“It’s no exaggeration to say this is a new era for the firm,” says founder Cheryl Slover-Linett. “Bill, Sarah, and Chloe will be a new leadership team to help us continue the growth we’ve seen in recent years and extend ourselves in exciting directions in the future. And Mike and Anne have become such gifted, thoughtful researchers, it’s a pleasure to see them step up to work in a more strategic role with our clients.”
Slover-Linett’s partner, Peter Linett, agrees. “The deepest rewards of our professional lives have come from watching these amazing people grow,” he says. “We learn from them every day, and in these new roles our clients will be able to learn from them even more.”
