Slover Linett will provide audience research services to Friends of the High Line, the nonprofit organization responsible for New York City's hottest cultural and recreational site.
The High Line is a unique park built atop an abandoned elevated railway on the lower west side of Manhattan.
Slover Linett will design and analyze a survey of visitors to the High Line, which will be implemented in association with NY-based researcher Karen Gershowitz of Strategic Action Inc. We will also help the High Line's leadership and programming, marketing, membership, development, and operations staff develop a long-range, holistic research and evaluation plan for the organization.
Opened to the public in June 2009, the High Line has received international acclaim for its design excellence and has quickly become a beloved gathering and people-watching spot for New Yorkers and tourists alike.
Slover Linett partner Peter Linett returned from a visit to the High Line brimming with enthusiasm about the park. "It's only one story above the street, but the vibe up there is light-years away from the clubs and restaurants and galleries in those neighborhoods. Yet it's totally social. Strangers were talking with each other, and people seemed to enjoy discovering this beautiful new space together."
We're grateful to arts consultant David Gordon of Gordon Advisory for introducing us to our new friends at Friends of the High Line.
